Manchester City’s 115 charges verdict to be delivered imminently: ‘I did hear some information’
Manchester City’s 115 charges decision is expected to be delivered “soon” after the parties have faced a lengthy delay.
That is according to former Man City financial adviser Stefan Borson, who exclusively told Football Insider he’s heard information on the legal circuit the panel is coming to a close with the drafting.
Pep Guardiola’s side were dealt the charges by the Premier League in February 2023 for allegedly breaching the financial fair play (FFP) rules over a nine-year period between 2009 and 2018.
An independent commission hearing started in September 2024 and ended in December that same year, with the panel still considering its verdict.
There is an expectation Man City will appeal if the decision goes against them after insisting they haven’t done anything wrong over the past three years.

Man City are facing expulsion from the Premier League due to the seriousness of the charges.
However, the initial decision is only understood to be around liability, with a further sanction hearing to follow if necessary.

| Premier League | 3 |
| FA Cup | 1 |
| Carabao Cup | 3 |
| Community Shield | 2 |
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, Borson discussed the latest in Man City’s wait for the verdict.
“It’s famous last words, but it can’t take much longer,” said Borson.
“As I understand it, there are no special reasons why it’s not come out. Nobody’s ill, nobody’s negotiating behind the scenes. There’s no secret sort of plans from government to intervene or any of that stuff.
“It’s all actually very vanilla. The original panel just simply hasn’t finished writing it up or hadn’t as of a few weeks ago.”
When Man City and Premier League are expecting 115 charges decision
Borson reveals what he’s heard from colleagues about when the decision could be delivered.
“I did hear some information from the legal circuit that would point to it coming to a close in terms of the drafting of the decision,” said Borson.
“The parties themselves do expect that it will come out soon after the season ends, but they’ve been wrong before.
“My analysis, which has always been based upon the information that’s been out in the market, has obviously been wrong as well because it didn’t arrive.
“But clearly, every day that goes by makes it more likely that it’s coming out just because it simply can’t take very much longer to write up something in a private arbitration, notwithstanding the complexity.”
