Jose Mourinho has revealed Manchester United match winner Henrikh Mkhitaryan will miss the next two games through injury.
Mourinho revealed that the Armenia international will return to full fitness on Boxing day against Sunderland, after being stretchered off against Tottenham with an ankle injury.
“It looks like next match not, but not needing surgery,” Mourinho said to MUTV, cited by the BBC. “Hopefully we have him for Boxing Day.”
The 27-year-old scored in the first half against Tottenham on Saturday, earning his side a 1-0 win with just his second goal for Man United as he struck a sweet strike past Hugo Lloris.
Wearing the number 22 shirt, Mkhitaryan is enjoying a run in the United side after a dismal start to life at Old Trafford.

The former Borussia Dortmund star starred against Feyenoord and West Ham in the cup, before scoring his first United goal against Europa League opponents Zorya in the week.
Before his return to the team against Feyenoord, Mkhitaryan had featured just six times for United after making his debut from the bench in the Community Shield against Leicester.
Mkhitaryan will now miss Wednesday night’s away trip to Crystal Palace, as well as United’s clash at the Hawthorns against West Brom on December 17.
