Manchester City took a first half lead against Manchester United through Phil Foden, and United fans have aired their frustrations with one star online.

Man United were hoping to exact a 30-year low on Man City on Sunday, with Amorim eyeing a second win in succession, but instead fell to a 3-0 defeat to their rivals.

Amorim has been under scrutiny for United's start to the season, with the Old Trafford club winning just one of their opening three Premier League games.

The season started with a loss to Arsenal, before a draw against Fulham and a last-gasp win over Burnley gave United their first points of the campaign.

Guardiola's side won their opening league game against Wolverhampton Wanderers, but have since lost twice, firstly to Tottenham Hotspur, and then against Brighton and Hove Albion.

Star man hammered by Manchester United fans

Man United fans were quick to point out the role that one man played in Foden's opener in the Manchester derby.

Jeremy Doku weaved through United's backline before crossing to Foden who had the freedom of Manchester to head home, giving City the lead.

Foden appeared to run off the shoulder of Man United captain Bruno Fernandes, and fans promptly took to X (formerly Twitter) to air their frustrations at Fernandes.

One fan said: "Bruno's man, surprise surprise.."

With another pointing out the similarities to one of Burnley's goals two weeks ago, saying: "Happened against Burnley for Foster's goal. What benefit do we gain? [From Fernandes playing in midfield]."

While Adam Crafton also focused on Fernandes, saying: "Bruno asleep."

Man United are next in action on Saturday, 14th September when they host Chelsea in the Premier League.
