Manchester United: Harry Kane’s stance on Premier League return revealed amid contract talks

Manchester United are unlikely to be given the chance to sign Harry Kane this summer as he remains happy to stay at Bayern Munich with new contract talks inbound.

Kane has been one of Man United’s dream signings for several years now, and he was seemingly close to moving to Old Trafford after leaving Tottenham in 2023.

The England hero instead joined Bayern in a move that has massively paid off for both parties, as he is currently regarded as one of the best players in the world right now.

Kane is nearing the final year of his contract at the Allianz Arena, and as I revealed on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Transfer Insider podcast, he remains keen to stay in Bavaria despite continued interest from the Red Devils.

He will stay on Man United’s transfer shortlist in case contract talks break down, but Kane is clearly unlikely to move away from Bayern this summer.

Harry Kane open to signing new Bayern Munich contract despite Man United interest

Kane could be on course for one of the best years of his career as Bayern target another treble and England head to North America as one of the favourites to lift the World Cup.

United are keen to add more firepower to their ranks as they look to build towards competing at the very top of the Premier League in the years to come.

He is believed to want to return to English football at some point in his career, but a move to Old Trafford looks increasingly unlikely this summer.

Speaking on the Transfer Insider podcast, I explained: “Kane did have a release clause that he could have activated, but he didn’t activate it, which sort of pointed to the fact that he was very happy in Munich.

“I think he is settled off the pitch in Munich as well. Look, as long as Bayern Munich are winning trophies and competing for their highest honours, I don’t see any real reason for Kane to seek a move away.”

Marcus Rashford could return to Old Trafford amid Barcelona’s wage concerns

Rashford was an option on the left wing for United for several seasons, but Ruben Amorim ousted him from his squad last term, and he is currently out on loan at Barcelona.

The 28-year-old has registered 13 goal contributions in 28 La Liga matches for Barca this season as they close in on a successive league title triumph.

He wants to stay in Catalonia for next season, but finance expert Stefan Borson has revealed to Football Insider that Rashford could return to Man United to be a part of their squad again as Barcelona can not afford his wages on a permanent deal.

The Red Devils are unwilling to agree to another loan move for the England star, and so Barca’s interest looks to be cooling despite his decent form.
