Bruno Fernandes has welcomed new signing Karl Darlow to Man United on social media.

Michael Carrick has looked to mix up his goalkeeping options this summer in his first transfer window as the permanent Man United manager.

Senne Lammens emerged as the Red Devils' first-choice stopper last season following an £18million move from Royal Antwerp.

He played ahead of Altay Bayindir and Tom Heaton, and the former is expected to leave Old Trafford ahead of the next campaign after the latter signed a new contract last month.

Man United have moved to officially sign Welsh international goalkeeper Darlow following the expiration of his contract at rivals Leeds.

The 35-year-old will serve as Lammens' new back-up after impressing in the latter stages of the last campaign as Leeds' number one.

Bruno Fernandes fulfils his captaincy duties by welcoming Karl Darlow to Man United

Darlow's 16-year-long professional career has seen him play for the likes of Nottingham Forest, Newcastle, Hull City and Leeds.

He spent three seasons at Elland Road after leaving Newcastle in 2023, helping them win promotion to the top flight and featuring 38 times across all competitions.

Darlow reportedly received a contract offer from the Whites as he neared the end of his deal, but Man United have won the battle for his signature and announced his arrival on Tuesday afternoon.

In response to his official announcement post on Instagram, Red Devils captain Fernandes took to his story to write: "Welcome home @KarlDarlow."

Callum Wilson also replied to Darlow's own post by saying: "Good luck bro," while Jacob Murphy commented: "Love it Darlious!"

Man United plan to accept Altay Bayindir offer as 'surprise' replacement lined up

What is the latest on Bayindir's United future?

Bayindir must seek pastures new if he wants valuable game time while he enters the prime of his career at 28-years-old.

The Turkish international stopper has struggled to ever make an impression at United since joining from Fenerbahce in 2023.

He failed to appear under Carrick in the second half of last season, and sources have told Football Insider that United will accept an offer for Bayindir, with his contract set to expire in June 2027.

The likes of Besiktas, and his former club, Fenerbahce, are believed to be showing an interest in a potential summer move.
