Lee Kang‑In’s latest World Cup display serves as another transfer reminder for Man United
Manchester United should be reigniting their pursuit of PSG star Lee Kang-In following his impressive World Cup displays for South Korea.
Marca reported in the 2025 summer transfer window that Man United were showing interest in Lee, who was exploring the possibility of leaving PSG.
The 25-year-old remained in France, but game time has been difficult to come by in the biggest matches as he competes with Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and Desire Doue for a place in the team.
Atletico Madrid have been in talks with Lee, but a deal has not yet been completed, and Man United are looking to sign a new forward this summer.
Man United want to add extra quality and depth to their attack following their qualification for the Champions League.
Bryan Mbeumo's form tailed off towards the end of the season, whilst Amad Diallo's role under Michael Carrick has been questioned.
Man United should take note of Lee Kang-In performances
For the second successive World Cup match, Lee was a star performer for South Korea.
Despite a narrow 1-0 loss to Mexico, Lee stood out as one of the best players on the pitch.
Successfully completing four out of his five dribbles, creating one big chance, and making three key passes, Lee was South Korea's biggest threat going forward against the Mexicans.
All three of his crosses were accurate, whilst he won seven of his 10 duels across the 90 minutes.
Following on from an assist in the opening game against the Czech Republic, Man United surely have enough evidence to restore Lee to their list of transfer targets.
Former chief scout at Old Trafford Mick Brown told Football Insider that Man United could accept an offer for Diallo this summer, putting further emphasis on Carrick to sign a new winger.
Who else are Man United targeting this summer?
Man United have been linked with a number of forwards this summer, as Carrick is keen to get his transfer business done early.
West Ham's Crysencio Summerville has become the latest target, with a feeling that the London club could have to accept an offer on the 24-year-old following their relegation to the Championship.
AC Milan's Rafael Leao has been linked with a move to Old Trafford, whilst Everton's Iliman Ndiaye may also be on their radar.
It is unlikely that Marcus Rashford will be reintegrated back into the team, as the 28-year-old pushes to leave the club on a permanent basis following his loan spell at Barcelona.
