Man United supporters have exploded online after a new report claimed that they are considering letting Harry Amass leave on a permanent deal this summer.
Michael Carrick has made it clear that he wishes to bolster his left-back options this summer in preparation for United's return to the Champions League.
The Red Devils have been linked to a whole host of signings in the position to compete with Luke Shaw, with Lewis Hall being one of their most prevalent targets.
Academy graduate Amass has returned to the first team fold to impress Carrick, and he shone in their pre-season friendly win over Rosenborg last week.
Supporters raved about the 19-year-old online after the match, but now The Athletic's Laurie Whitwell has reported that United are open to letting him leave for around £6million.
Several Championship clubs have made approaches over a possible deal, with fans fuming that he could be let go for such a low fee.

Amass spent last season out on loan at both Sheffield Wednesday and Norwich City, but endured contrasting fortunes at either club.
He shone in the first half of the season in a struggling Owls side, registering a goal and an assist each in 21 appearances during his first senior loan spell.
Norwich won the hotly contested race for his services in January as they chased a play-off place, but he picked up a serious hamstring injury just days after his debut for the club and missed the rest of the campaign.
He has returned to full fitness to be included in Carrick's pre-season plans, but the club now look keen to cash in on his potential to then provide senior competition to Shaw.
Many fans have taken to X to express their dismay at Amass being linked away and the fee that he could leave the club for, with one saying: "This club is disgusting, didn't we learn anything with (Alvaro) Carreras! Amass hasn't even been given a chance and he's worth more than £6m."
While another said: "There is nothing Harry Amass can't do that Lewis Hall can, but we have to pay £50 to £60m to sign Hall while selling young talent? This club is a graveyard for young players."
And one supporter added: "Who are the foolish people discussing selling Amass for £6m? They make people think the club is cursed. Amass is a player for the future, and Shaw is already 31. He won't be here forever."
Who are United looking to sign at left-back?
Sources have exclusively revealed to Football Insider that United are set to accelerate a move for Hall in the coming weeks, with Carrick pushing to agree a deal.
Hall is believed to be open to moving to Old Trafford to play Champions League football, but Newcastle will demand a hefty fee to stop him from leaving.
Patrick Dorgu is also an option in the position, but is expected to play more regularly on the left wing for the coming campaign.
Antonee Robinson and Alejandro Balde are among others believed to be on their shortlist if a move for Hall is not possible.
