Man United make new Bruno Fernandes transfer plan - 'Michael Carrick has been clear'
Manchester United will not entertain talks over the future of Bruno Fernandes regardless of lingering interest from clubs across Europe.
Juventus are the latest European giant to be linked with a move for the 31-year-old, while clubs in the Saudi Pro League including Critstiano Ronaldo's Al Nassr remain keen.
However, the Portugal international is expected to be a key part of Michael Carrick's plans for the upcoming season, and the club have ruled out any chance of letting him go.
Former Man United chief scout Mick Brown told Football Insider that Carrick has been clear about his desire for Fernandes to remain as one of his most important players.
Despite having considered his sale in the past, INEOS and the Man United heirarchy are now dismissing any suggestions he could be moved on, with the full focus on the new season.
Fernandes is currently enjoying a short break following his participation at the World Cup, but is expected to return to Carrington later in pre-season as part of Carrick's plans.
Could Man United be tempted to sell Fernandes?
Brown told Football Insider before the transfer window opened that Man United are set to do everything in their power to keep Fernandes at the club beyond the summer.
Following a record-breaking season in which he helped the Red Devils qualify for the Champions League, they are now determined to block any talk over his departure.
Carrick believes losing Fernandes would be a major blow to his ambitious plans for the upcoming season, and has made his stance clear to the decision-makers at Old Trafford.
"I can't see any way Bruno Fernandes would be allowed to leave Man United," Brown told Football Insider.
"I'm not the biggest fan of most of the decisions INEOS have made, but even they're not stupid enough to think selling Fernandes would be a good idea.
"It is something they have considered in the past, but Michael Carrick has been clear, he does not want to lose his best players under any circumstances.
"So as far as Man United are concerned, he's not for sale, whether it's Juventus making the move or clubs in Saudi Arabia, they are not entertaining any talks.
"Bruno Fernandes is a very important part of Carrick's plans, he will return to Man United before the start of the season, and he'll continue to be a big part of those plans."
How does Fernandes feel about leaving Man United?
Speculation about Fernandes' long-term future at Man United has been rife since he rejected the chance to move to Saudi Pro League outfit Al Hilal last year.
Clubs have been keeping a close eye on his situation since then, but he has now forged a strong relationship with Carrick, who is getting the best out of his main man.
Football Insider revealed in March that Fernandes would be happy to stay at Man United if Carrick landed the permanent job - and that is still believed to be the case.
Following his permanent appointment after leading the club back into the Champions League, Carrick is making ambitious plans for the future, with Fernandes at the centre.
The Portugal international is now believed to be happy to stay at Old Trafford, and with United not willing to let him go, they are now preparing for the new season.
