Man United plan to accept Joshua Zirkzee offer, move to Premier League rivals possible
Manchester United are open to accepting new offers for Joshua Zirkzee amid ongoing interest from multiple Premier League clubs.
The 25-year-old is still highly regarded at Old Trafford and has impressed Michael Carrick with his pre-season performances, including with an outstanding goal against Rosenborg.
However, he is not expected to play a regular role in the manager's plans for the upcoming season, and the Red Devils are now prepared to let him move on.
Former Man United chief scout Mick Brown told Football Insider that a number of Premier League clubs are interested and would benefit from signing Zirkzee.
The Netherlands international's work-rate, willingness and talent in posession have made him a target for rival clubs, despite him having struggled to settle at United.
His club are now prepared to let Zirkzee move on, and would prefer to sell him permanently rather than entertaining loan offers, with clubs in Italy also interested.
Could Man United accept offers for Joshua Zirkzee?
Football Insider revealed in May that Zirkzee is expected to leave Man United this summer as a result of his lack of playing time over the last 12 months and under Carrick.
The striker made 24 Premier League appearances last season, but just five of those came from the start, and just one of those came after the new manager's arrival.
While Zirkzee has impressed with his performances in pre-season, he is still expected to be on the fringes of the squad, and the opportunity to raise funds from his sale is appealing.
"It's an interesting one with Joshua Zirkzee, I think he will be one to watch," Brown told Football Insider.
"I've seen positive signs from him in pre-season, he's still showing that work rate and desire which has always placed him pretty high in my estimations personally.
"From what I hear, Man United do rate him highly as well, but there is a feeling that he's not going to have a part to play under Michael Carrick.
"If that is the case, then they'll be looking to raise money by selling him, because he's still a good player and they could get a good fee.
"I'm sure Premier League clubs are keen on him, because they have shown an interest in the past and he is definitely capable of playing at this level, just not for Man United."
Which Premier League clubs are interested in Zirkzee?
Zirkzee has long been linked with a move away from Man United, with speculation going back to last summer about which clubs are showing an interest.
A number of Serie A sides, including the likes of Juventus and Roma, have been keen to lure the forward back to Italy where he enjoyed a successful spell with Bologna.
Meanwhile, Brown told Football Insider in May that Everton are still among Zirkzee's admirers, having first considered signing him during last summer's transfer window.
The Toffees are looking to sign a new striker in the summer as they aim to bolster David Moyes' squad, amid ongoing concerns about their current attacking options.
The Netherlands international's hold-up play, work-rate and willingness to run would make him well-suited for Moyes' side and they could be tempted to move.
