Man United 'well placed' to hijack Iliman Ndiaye deal

Manchester United are one of a number of Premier League clubs considering a move to hijack Iliman Ndiaye's Everton exit.

The 26-year-old is believed to be edging closer to a move away from the Hill Dickinson Stadium this summer, after he agreed personal terms with Saudi Pro League outfit Al Hilal.

However, little progress has been made towards an agreement with Everton, placing a number of rival clubs on alert as they believe they could swoop to get a deal done.

Former Man United chief scout Mick Brown told Football Insider that the Red Devils will be among those keeping a close eye on Ndiaye in case he is made available.

While no formal steps have been taken towards a deal as things stand, the club would be in a good position to do a deal as Michael Carrick aims to strengthen out wide.

Ndiaye has been a long-term target for Man United, and the opportunity to land him this summer could be something they are tempted to explore his his Saudi move falls through.

Could Man United make a move for Iliman Ndiaye?

Former Tottenham scout Bryan King told Football Insider on 7 August that Everton will set a lofty price tag of as much as £100million to deter the interest in Ndiaye.

The Senegal international is a crucial part of David Moyes' plans, and the club are extremely reluctant to let him go despite the growing interest in a deal.

However, with his head reportedly having been turned by the Saudi Pro League interest, a number of Premier League rivals are now poised to swoop in.

"I certainly wouldn't rule out a Premier League club coming in for him," Brown told Football Insider.

"It looks like Ndiaye is keen to move on, that Saudi move has turned his head, and he's no longer set on staying at Everton even though they obviously want to keep him.

"If that move to Al Hilal can't be agreed, then there are a number of clubs who would be prepared to swoop in and get a deal done instead.

"Man United are one club who have been long-term admirers of his, we know Michael Carrick wants to bring in a winger, so they could make a move if he is available.

"They'd be in a good position to get a deal done because they've been tracking him for a while, they know his pros and cons and where he would fit in their side.

"A lot will depend on whether a deal can be agreed with Everton, or whether he makes that move to Saudi Arabia, but I wouldn't rule it out."a

What is the latest on Ndiaye's move to Al Hilal?

Much of whether any Premier League clubs will be prepared to move for Ndiaye depends on his move to Al Hilal and whether they can reach an agreement with Everton.

Personal terms are said to have been agreed with the player and he and his represetnatives were made aware of the interest, with the club now seen as the final hurdle.

Football Insider revealed on 2 August that Everton will allow Ndiaye to join Al Hilal if they come forward with an offer that matches their £75million valuation.

As things stand, no formal contact has been made with Everton, but discussions have been held about the possbility of reaching an agreement.

Man United and Man City have both regisetered their interest in the player, and are keeping an eye on how things unfold, as well as whether they could agree a deal at that price.
