Marcus Rashford is 'on everybody's mind' as Man United uncertainty persists
Marcus Rashford's future remains the question of the summer after Barcelona opted against signing him permanently from Manchester United.
That is the opinion of experienced former Tottenham, Everton and Aston Villa scout, Bryan King, speaking exclusively to Football Insider.
The 28-year-old had been expected to sign for the La Liga champions on a permanent deal, but they ultimately opted against the £26million option to buy.
Rashford scored 14 goals and provided 11 assists across all competitions, but carries huge wages and will be a huge financial commitment for any team hoping to sign him.
Those wages have reportedly grown even higher this summer, with Man United's qualification to the Champions League reportedly triggering a 25 per cent boost.
New manager Michael Carrick played with Rashford in the latter stages of his career, and is expected to open the door back to Old Trafford.

Rashford's summer options are diminishing quickly. After making the decision against signing him permanently, Barcelona went and bought Anthony Gordon for £69m.
The La Liga giants would reportedly still be open to signing the winger on another loan, but Man United would be hesitant.
The 28-year-old is in the final two years of his contract and decision-makers will not want to him enter the final year.
"I think the one that is on everybody's mind is Rashford," King told Football Insider. "Where's he going? Is he going to stay at United?
"Is Carrick prepared to give him another chance? Or does he want to go on this European roundabout again? He did well at Villa.
"He then earned the chance, which I thought was a little bit harsh. He could have gone back to Villa and signed, but he wanted to go to Barcelona.
"He got his wish and he did reasonably well there. So, he could turn out to be an interesting one."
Where will Rashford end up?
Rashford appears closer and closer to staying put at Man United this summer, despite the uncertainty.
A move could still happen, but there are a select few clubs who would be willing to meet his wages.
Arsenal are one of them, and appear to have missed out on their top target - Vinicius Junior. The Gunners have been linked with Rashford before.
However, it remains to be seen whether the champions would be willing to make the move or if Man United would be willing to sell him to a direct rival.
