Michael Carrick has seen his odds slashed to be the next manager to depart in the Premier League yet again as Manchester United continue to struggle in the 2026-27 campaign.

The 45-year-old is under huge pressure at Old Trafford after the Red Devils were knocked out of the Carabao Cup on Wednesday after a 3-2 defeat to Brighton and Hove Albion.

Carrick was already one of the favourites to be sacked next after the defeat, but these odds have continued to tumble.

One UK bookmaker has now slashed the odds down to 5/6, making him the clear favourite to be sacked next.

The manager was only handed a two-year contract in May after a successful spell as Man United’s caretaker manager in the second half of last season.

However, he could now soon find himself jobless after a terrible start to the new campaign.

Since the defeat to Brighton, the pressure on Carrick has increased 10-fold.

Fans are clearly unhappy with how the team is performing, with the Red Devils already losing to Hull City and a 10-man Manchester City side.
