Man United are having 'very good window' after three signings agreed
Manchester United are likely to benefit from the fact that they have not splashed the cash on eye-catching additions to their squad this summer.
That is according to former Everton chief executive Keith Wyness, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, who believes that the Red Devils are well-placed to progress again under Michael Carrick.
The Old Trafford outfit have only welcomed three new additions so far this summer, with Andrey Santos currently their most expensive buy at £50million.
That is a far cry from some of their spending in previous windows, but Wyness believes that the "discipline" they have shown in the market could boost the camaraderie within the squad.
Youri Tielemans and Karl Darlow are the only other new faces in Carrick's group at the moment, with the boss largely expected to work with a similar squad to last term, barring a late flurry of transfers.
The 45-year-old led United back into the Champions League in 2025-26, and Wyness feels that is a realistic target for them once again.

Everton’s former chief Wyness – who served as CEO at Goodison Park between 2004 and 2009 and now runs a football consultancy advising elite clubs – believes that United have moved away from the "idiocy" that they have shown with their spending in previous windows.
The Red Devils have spent lavishly on under-performing stars in the past, and have had their transfer business criticised from all angles at times.
Speaking on the latest edition of Football Insider's Inside Track podcast, Wyness explained why their new approach is likely to boost the security felt within the squad.
"I think they'll progress again, actually. I'm quite bullish for United at the moment," he said.
"I think this has been a very good window for them showing some discipline and buying well rather than buying big. We've seen the numbers that they've got themselves into in terms of debt. That had to be stopped at some stage.
"I think that will also play back into a more cohesive squad who are a bit tighter and not feeling they can be usurped by a big-money target coming in at any time.
"So I think it's actually going to help build the squad feeling and teamwork. And I think Carrick's the right man to do it. I don't think they're going to win the league, but they're going to be going on and doing quite well.
"I see it as a very positive window for United and a reversal of some of the idiocy we've seen from them in the past few years."

Former United chief scout Mick Brown told Football Insider last weekend that his former club have identified Club Brugge left-back Joaquin Seys as their "ideal" target in the final stages of the window.
They have been pursuing a move for Newcastle star Lewis Hall in recent weeks, but their ex-recruitment boss now believes that deal to be too complicated for them at the moment.
Seys is seen as a player with huge potential, and Brown outlined that United have been keeping a close eye on his progress in recent months.
The 21-year-old would likely serve as Luke Shaw's understudy initially, but United have had a new left-back as a priority deal since the start of the summer.
