Marcus Rashford transfer odds slashed again after Barcelona complete new signing
Marcus Rashford’s odds of making a permanent move to Barcelona from Manchester United have been slashed once again by a UK bookmaker.
The England international spent the 2025-26 campaign on loan at the Catalan club and they are desperately trying to re-negotiate their £26million purchase.
This is despite Barcelona’s recent addition of Anthony Gordon, who made the switch to the Nou Camp from Newcastle United in late May.
One UK bookmaker has now slashed the odds of Rashford making a summer switch to Barcelona down to 2/1, making it a more likely destination than Old Trafford next season.
Rashford picked up 18 goal contributions in the 2025-26 campaign as he helped the Spanish giants win the La Liga title once more.
Michael Carrick appointment will not change stance on Marcus Rashford
Despite Carrick’s arrival at Old Trafford, the Red Devils are still happy to sell the England international this summer transfer window.
Sources have indicated that his wages have now risen at Man United after the club secured Champions League qualification this season.
Therefore, United are keen to get Rashford off their wage bill, and Barcelona are open to a permanent move this summer.
The 28-year-old is still contracted until 2028 at Man United, meaning the pressure is now on if they want to get a substantial fee for their academy graduate.
However, it remains to be seen if Barcelona will be able to negotiate a price both parties will be happy with.
Rashford situation could block Lewis Hall signing
Former Manchester City financial adviser Stefan Borson exclusively told Football Insider that Man United must solve the Rashford situation if they want to sign Lewis Hall.
Newcastle United have slapped a £70m price tag on their left-back, who had another impressive campaign this season.
Borson has now suggested that United need to sell Rashford and potentially some other players if they want to afford the signing of Hall.
The club have several outcasts still on their books who they will be hoping to offload in the coming months to free up funds and wages.
Therefore, Carrick will hope a sale is soon sorted as he looks to boost the quality of his backline going into the 2026-27 campaign.
