Sources: Igor Matanovic ready to 'jump' at Man United move
Freiburg striker Igor Matanovic would "jump" at the chance to join Manchester United in the coming years, sources have told Football Insider.
The 23-year-old has forced his way onto the radars of several of the Premier League's top clubs, but is aware that it would be a big step up to join one of them this season.
Nevertheless, sources say that the chance to play in the Premier League is hugely appealing for Matanovic.
There is not expected to be any movement regarding his future during January, but the prospect of a move next summer is likely, and the player will not need to be convinced.
Matanovic has already notched nine goal involvements from just seven games so far this term, after a 15-goal haul last term.
Igor Matanovic close to a goal every 90 minutes
Matanovic has enjoyed an extremely fruitful 18 months with Freiburg, and he has quickly established himself as one of the Bundesliga's brightest young strikers.
He finished last season as Freiburg's top scorer during their league campaign, and looks set to be their main man in the final third once again.
Matanovic's three league strikes in 2026-27 have come from a total of just 15 shots, which in turn gives him an impressive conversion rate of 20 per cent.
The quality of his finishing is highlighted by the fact that his xG for the league campaign so far stands at just 1.85, meaning he is outperforming the quality of his chances.
Both United and Arsenal are likely to be in the market for new striking options within the next 12 months, and Matanovic is someone who is firmly on their radars.
If he can continue in his current vein of form, then there is little doubt that the Premier League will be beckoning for the youngster.
Man United prepared to accept Leny Yoro offer
Former United chief scout Mick Brown told Football Insider that his former club are prepared to accept a loan offer for centre-back Leny Yoro in the January transfer window.
The ex-recruitment man made it clear that the lack of development in the physical and mental sides of the 20-year-old's game is providing concern for the club.
Yoro has played just 22 minutes of Premier League football so far this season, and Brown believes that the risk is too high for Michael Carrick to hand him more gametime.
The prospect of a loan move is seen as the best option as a result, with Yoro expected to head out and gain experience.
