Marcus Rashford could U-turn on Man United future after source's £45m reveal - pundit

Marcus Rashford could stay at Man United and rebuild his career under the management of Erik ten Hag.

That is the view of former Arsenal and Everton striker Kevin Campbell, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the 24-year-old’s future at Old Trafford.

Rashford has struggled this season and was an unused substitute in United’s 3-0 win over Brentford on Monday night.

Football Insider revealed (26 March) that the England international has admitted to friends he could leave his boyhood club this summer.

An Arsenal source told this site (28 April) that Mikel Arteta’s side have registered their interest in Rashford as they look to bolster their strike force in the next window.

The Gunners have set aside £45million for a centre-forward capable of leading the line next season.

Rashford has just over a year remaining on his contract at Old Trafford.

When asked by Football Insider if the forward needed a move to re-ignite his faltering career, Campbell said:

“A move might be best for him but a new manager coming in could have a similar impact. That is a challenge in itself. That always gets the juices flowing.

“You don’t know what to expect. Ten Hag might come in and absolutely love Rashford. He might be given a major role in the team and start flying again. You just never know.

“It has been a disappointing season for Marcus Rashford though. You cannot shy away from that.”
