Mark Lawrenson predicts West Ham v Chelsea
By Harvey Byrne
Mark Lawrenson believes that West Ham will fall to defeat against Chelsea for the Monday evening clash at the London Stadium.
The Hammers are currently preparing to host their London rivals for a clash which sees top of the league take on ninth.
Slaven Bilic’s side are largely considered the underdogs heading into the encounter, but West Ham fans will still hold belief that their side can pick up all three points.
However, BBC pundit Lawrenson has predicted a 2-0 Chelsea victory, highlighting the Blues’ ability to pull out wins.
“West Ham’s poor start to the season seems a distant memory now but Chelsea just keep finding a way to win games,” told Lawrenson to the BBC Sport website.

“That is why I would back the Blues to get a win at the London Stadium and also why I don’t see anyone catching Antonio Conte’s side at the top of the table.
“I have mentioned Manchester City striker Aguero as a player who has been out of the team and not made a fuss, well, Cesc Fabregas has done the same for Chelsea.
“Fabregas has come into the team and looked fantastic and, along with Willian, is a great example of the depth they have got – Chelsea can make three or four changes and it does not seem to weaken their team whatsoever.
“The Hammers have only lost one of their past six league games, and beat Chelsea in the EFL Cup in October, but I am going with the leaders to pick up another three points.”
West Ham have already met Chelsea twice this campaign with matches in the EFL Cup and Premier League respectively.
The Blues ran out 2-1 victors in the league clash in August, while the Hammers earned bragging rights when they dumped Antonio Conte’s men out of the cup with a 2-1 victory themselves.
The east London club will now be hoping for a similar outcome as they look to challenge for a place in next year’s Europa League while putting a spanner in Chelsea’ league title hopes.
However, the Blues have won three of their last four matches in all competitions and they will certianly prove tough opponents to beat.
