Martin Keown has boldly claimed that Jurgen Klopp is the best manager in the Premier League as he hailed the job he is doing at Liverpool.

Former Arsenal defender Keown believes that the German is pulling the Reds “further up the table than they might otherwise be”.

Klopp’s side are currently second in the league table, six points off leaders Chelsea, who have won 11 matches in a row.

Since joining the Blues in the summer, Antonio Conte has done a remarkable job at the London club that finished tenth in the previous season.

Nonetheless, former England international Keown explained why he felt, Klopp was the best in England’s top-flight.

“With the players he has available, Klopp is pulling Liverpool further up the table than they might otherwise be,” Keown told the Daily Mail. “Klopp has such energy and you feel there is a shared experience between the manager and his players.”

Former Borussia Dortmund manager Klopp joined the Reds in October 2015, replacing the sacked Brendan Rodgers in the Anfield dugout.

In his first season in charge, he led his side to a top eight finish in the league, the final of the League Cup and the Europa League final – losing out on both occasions.

Now, after a pre-season under his belt, Klopp has led the Anfield club to a title challenge as their high pressing game has caused havoc in English football.

It has resulted in the Merseyside club being the top scorers in the division with 41 goals from 17 games, six more than leaders Chelsea.

Additionally, it has also led them to the semi-final of the League Cup, where they will take on Southampton in January.
