Martin Keown: This is the next natural step for Tottenham
By Amir Mir
Martin Keown believes the next natural step for Tottenham will be to win trophies which will also help them keep hold of their best players.
The north London outfit are chasing Premier League leaders Chelsea in the title race, with Spurs four points behind their rivals.
There are six matches of the season remaining which gives the north London club ample time to catch Antonio Conte’s men in the table if they slip-up.
The duo will meet on Saturday evening for an FA Cup semi-final showdown at Wembley, with the winner facing either Arsenal or Manchester City in the final.
Former Gunners defender Keown had this to say about Spurs and how they can move to the next level.

“This Tottenham team is purring,” Keown told Football Focus as posted on the BBC Sports website.
“Other sides look with envy at what Tottenham are about and what they might accomplish. In particular, with players like Dele Alli getting all the plaudits, Spurs have such a strong midfield.
“But Tottenham do need to win a trophy because that is the natural next step and it will allow the club to keep all their top players.”
Dele Alli and Harry Kane have been two standout performers for Mauricio Pochettino’s side this season.
Attacking midfielder Alli has scored 16 league goals from the middle of the park, while his England teammate has found the back of the net on 20 occasions.
The duo have been instrumental to Tottenham being on the verge of securing back-to-back Champions League places.
Now, they will be hoping to go to the next level and clinch their maiden Premier League title at the end of the campaign.
Not only that, if they can see off the threat of their London neighbours at Wembley they will then have the chance of winning an unlikely domestic double.
