Martyn Waghorn has sent an amusing message of congratulations to Wes Foderingham after he extended his contract with Rangers on Wednesday.

The Light Blues announced on their official Twitter account and official website that Foderingham, 26, had agreed to prolong his stay with the club by an extra year, keeping him at Ibrox until 2020.

Waghorn, 27, left Rangers during the summer transfer window to sign for Ipswich in the English Championship and has still regularly tweeted about his ex-Ibrox team-mates.

On Wednesday, it was no different as the Portman Road attacker aimed a dig at the goalkeepers’ looks as well as congratulating him on his new deal.

“Yes Foreheaderingham love that,” said Waghorn on his personal Twitter account as he quoted Rangers’ announcement of his contract extension.

Waghorn has been in top form since leaving Rangers, which has sparked questions about Pedro Caixinha’s transfer policy in Glasgow as a number of former players hit the ground running after exiting.

The former England Under-21 international picked up the August player of the month award in the Championship and has so far scored four goals in six appearances across all competitions for Ipswich.

Foderingham has been a mainstay of the Rangers first-team ever since he joined from Swindon in 2015.

He has played every minute of every Scottish Premiership match this term, keeping one clean sheet in all six of his appearances.
