'Massive disappointment' - Ibrox Exclusive: Darren Bent despairs as Rangers player set to exit

Darren Bent despaired over Leicester City midfielder Andy King’s loan spell at Rangers not working out for him.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider correspondent Laura O’Leary, the former England international admitted King will be disappointed to go back to Leicester as he will struggle to feature there.

Football Insider recently revealed that King is set to leave the Gers next week and return to the Foxes, with him keen to secure a new loan club for the second half of the season.

Bent explained that King won’t be short of takers as the 31-year-old midfielder is the type of player who can boost a side’s attacking threat.

When asked if King’s loan spell not working out is a huge disappointment, Bent told Football Insider: “Yeah because he knows he is going back to Leicester to play no part in that team either.

“It’s a massive disappointment for him but he’s had a very good career, done a lot of things, and someone will take him as he’s the type of midfield player who can get in the box and get goals.

“It didn’t work up for him in Scotland but that’s not to say someone won’t take him in the Championship.

“In the Championship there are some big big big clubs.”

King has managed to play only five times for Steven Gerrard’s side this season and he has failed to make a matchday squad since October.

The former Wales international spent part of his 2018/19 campaign out on loan with Championship outfit Derby County but suffered an ankle injury shortly into his spell.
