Darren Bent has urged Leeds United to go all out to try and re-sign Danny Rose from Tottenham this summer.
The former Spurs and England hitman, speaking exclusively to Football Insider assistant editor Russell Edge, has been left raving over a potential return to Elland Road for the 30-year-old.
The Daily Star report that the Whites are plotting a move to re-sign the Tottenham outcast as they look to bring in some Premier League experience this summer.
Rose came through the youth ranks at Elland Road but joined Spurs in 2007 before he made a senior appearance for the club.
Bent believes Leeds should push hard to try and get the left-back this summer after he fell out of favour in north London.
Bent told Football Insider: “Rosey, he’s had a couple of injuries but we’ve seen him on the pitch more often than not so I’m all for that one, I’d go out and try to get him, if I’m honest.
“The Leeds fans will love him, he came through the youth system and was brilliant, he wants to go back home and it’s a match made in heaven because I honestly don’t believe that Leeds are going to struggle, I think they’ll be okay.
“For me, that would be a perfect one, he’s said he wants to be closer to home as he gets older in age so that would be perfect – four-year deal, there you go.”
Rose spent the second half of the 2019/20 season on loan at Newcastle United, where he made 13 appearances for the Magpies.
The 29-cap England ace has a total of 194 Premier League games under his belt to date.
In other Leeds United news, the Whites have set their sights on signing a left-back from Euro runners-up.
