Aberdeen fans are fuming at the news that Derek McInnes will remain their manager after talks with Rangers broke down on Thursday evening.

The shock news was first broken by STV journalist who put out a tweet on his official account saying that McInnes would be remaining as Aberdeen manager.

It was quickly confirmed by other media outlets, before it was confirmed on the official Aberdeen Twitter page shortly after.

However, not all Aberdeen fans are happy with the news after their manager was prepared to talk to one of their biggest rivals.

One took to Twitter and said that he would "never sing his name" while another accused him of "dragging the club through dirt".

Here is a selection of the best tweets from Aberdeen fans after hearing the shock news on Thursday evening.

McInnes doesn't have long to win the fans back over as his team is set to play Dundee in the Scottish premiership tomorrow night.
