Gabby Agbonlahor has insisted Celtic have a "great goalkeeper" in Joe Hart.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Aston Villa and England defender suggested Hart would be one of the top five ball-playing goalkeepers in the Premier League.

The ex-England international has made a fine start to life in Glasgow and has captained the Hoops in Callum McGregor's absence.

According to WhoScored, Hart's pass completion rate of 93.4 per cent is the joint highest in the Scottish Premiership - along with his Celtic colleague Stephen Welsh.

However, Hart has played almost 200 more minutes than the defender.

"Hart is an experienced goalkeeper and he's very good with his feet," Agbonlahor told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley.

"But he was not good enough for Pep. It just shows, when you look at Ederson, you can see why Pep was so adamant to get him. It's not just about your 10, 15-yard passes, it's can you put those through balls in like Ederson does?

"That doesn't mean Joe Hart is bad with his feet, he isn't. He'd probably be in the top five in the Premier League with his feet, in terms of goalkeepers.

"Celtic have got great player there. You need those leaders. They demand more from the players around them and that's what Joe Hart will do."

Celtic

Hart has kept six clean sheets in 13 appearances across all competitions for Celtic since his summer move from Tottenham.

Celtic, along with Rangers, Hearts, Dundee United and St. Johnstone, have conceded the least amount of goals (five) in the Scottish Premiership this season.
