Nottingham Forest, Villarreal, Sevilla, and Valencia have all registered their interest in signing Aston Villa left-back Alex Moreno, sources have told Football Insider.

However, Nuno Espirito Santo will attempt to keep the left-back in the Premier League for the upcoming season.

The Spaniard was not part of the match-day squad for the game at the London Stadium on Saturday evening, in which Villa beat West Ham 2-1.

Villa are open to letting Moreno leave the club and will listen to loan and permanent offers.

The 31-year-old was only a bit-part player under Unai Emery last season, starting just 10 Premier League games.

Nottingham Forest will face competition to try and sign Alex Moreno

Nottingham Forest have been active in the transfer window so far, but they will face competition in trying to secure Moreno before the window closes.

The versatile defender who is capable of operating as a winger has made 43 appearances for Villa since joining in January 2023.

With 146 appearances in La Liga throughout his career, Moreno also boasts plenty of experience playing in Spain’s top flight.

It could force a change in Santo’s transfer plans depending on the severity of the Brazilian’s issue.
