Alexis Sanchez has stated that Thierry Henry "never told me to leave the club" and said it was purely a personal decision. He went on to say that Henry loves the club and that he would like to see him as manager one day. Snchez delivered the message on his personal Twitter account on Wednesday morning.

This follows a report in the

where Arsenal legend Henry denied claims that Sanchez had spoken to him about the move before he left, which had angered Arsenal fans. Henry also took to Twitter to deny the claims personally on Tuesday.

Football Insider verdict:

This is all a storm in a tea cup. It seems like there has been a misunderstanding between the two players, with a conversation taking place but completely unrelated to the specific Man United move. Henry is a bone fide Arsenal legend and obviously wouldn't do anything to harm the club. The Sanchez move could end up being great for Arsenal ironically, with Henrikh Mkhitaryan already signed from Man United and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang potentially close to an Emirates deal too.
