Ange Postecoglou's Celtic return a 'non-starter' as former Hoops boss reveals his short-term plans
Celtic have been a dealt a blow in their pursuit of Ange Postecoglou returning to Glasgow for a second spell in charge of the club.
Brendan Rodgers resigned as Celtic manager after the Hoops had lost 3-1 at Hearts to fall eight points behind the league leaders.
Martin O'Neil has stepped in on an interim basis, whilst Celtic look for a new permanent appointment.
Postecoglou was Celtic manager for two seasons between 2021 and 2023, before he moved to Spurs and won the Europa League with them last season.

Postecoglou was sacked by Nottingham Forest following just 39 days at the City Ground, failing to win a match in charge of the club.
The Sun, [29 October] now reports that Postecoglou will take a break from football, and will not return to Celtic as manager at this time, calling it a "non-starter."

O'Neil's assistant Shaun Maloney could be a shock contender to become the Celtic boss, with Ipswich Town's Kieran McKenna one of the names in the frame to replace Rodgers.
Nicky Hayen a contender for Celtic job
Club Brugge manager Nicky Hayen is a contender for the Celtic job, as the Hoops search for their new boss.
Hayen has Champions League experience, and has won the Belgian Pro League, Cup and Super Cup with Clun Brugee.
The Celtic board need to get this appointment right, with pressure already on the hierarchy following their summer transfer activity which has been blamed for their poor season so far.
