Arsenal are keeping tabs on Brighton star Evan Ferguson ahead of the summer transfer window, sources have told Football Insider.

It is believed that the Gunners are looking at multiple centre-forward targets who can slot into the team from the start of next season and the 19-year-old is among those shortlisted.

Arsenal have been widely linked with a move for Brentford ace Ivan Toney - but this is far from a done deal and he has many other suitors.

The north London high flyers are assessing alternative options capable of fitting into Mikel Arteta's star-studded line-up.

Talent spotters at the Emirates rate Ferguson very highly, with sources telling Football Insider that they regard him as a "huge talent" capable of playing in the Champions League and developing into a world-beating number nine.

Evan Ferguson is considered a "huge talent" by Arsenal

Ferguson broke into the Seagulls' first team in the second half of last season with some highly impressive displays.

The teenager bagged six goals and two assists across 19 league outings and very quickly became one of English football's hottest prospects.

This season, he has notched another six goals - including a hat-trick against Newcastle United in September.

Ferguson has earned interest from across the Premier League, with Football Insider revealing (15 November) that Man United are big admirers of the striker even after he penned a new long-term deal at the Amex.

Ferguson initially signed a five-year Brighton contract last April before penning an extension seven months later, with the new deal running until the summer of 2029.

Mikel Arteta's side are keeping tabs on other targets for next season, with Football Insider revealing (22 February) that they have watched Red Bull Salzburg midfielder Oscar Gloukh and have compiled a “huge” dossier on his talents.

Arsenal kept pace with Man City and Liverpool after their 4-1 win against Newcastle United on Saturday (24 February).

They are next in action against Sheffield United at Bramall Lane (4 March).
