Arsenal are in no rush to offload backup goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale and will demand big money for him this summer, sources have told Football Insider.

The 26-year-old is keen to go in the off-season and is not happy playing second fiddle to David Raya, who will sign permanently from Brentford in the coming weeks.

Mikel Arteta is believed to want two top-class goalkeepers and he is unwilling to allow Ramsdale to leave unless it is on the club's terms.

The England international cost Arsenal a reported £30million three years ago and the club want a profit on that figure if they are to sell.

Interested clubs have baulked at that valuation after making initial inquiries, while the Gunners will also block loan offers for the ex-Sheffield United goalkeeper.

The Gunners will only consider homegrown shot-stoppers for the role as they prepare to sell multiple academy products in the off-season.

Arteta and his staff are keen to keep Ramsdale in his current second-choice role while Raya continues between the sticks in the 2024-25 campaign.

Ramsdale, who is under contract until June 2026, made 11 appearances, conceding 12 goals and keeping three clean sheets.
