Aston Villa had already lost their race for the last automatic play-off spot and it showed in the performance of Albert Adomah today.

They secured a battling 1-1 draw with Derby at Villa Park in a hugely disappointing result, although Villa should have taken all three points to be fair.

Aston Villa started brightly enough and dominated the first half, and could consider themselves unlucky to go behind to a Cameron Jerome goal in the 14th minute.

That didn't disrupt the flow of play and Villa kept pushing without result and one reason was the display of Adomah up front.

One fan said he'd been poor for weeks now and Steve Bruce eventually agreed with him and hooked him off on the hour mark.

He was replaced by Jonathan Kodjia but he couldn't inspire a comeback for the home team, despite hitting the post late on.

In the end Lewis Grabban gave Villa the goal that gave the Villa fans something to cheer, although they know they'll have to get back to the Premier League the hard way.

Here are the best reactions from Aston Villa fans who are frustrated at just missing out on the direct route back to the top flight:, and are taking it out on Adomah:
