Aston Villa fans took to Twitter to pan Josh Onomah for his performance in their team's 1-1 Championship draw against Preston North End on Tuesday night. The midfielder, who is on a season-long loan from Tottenham, was recalled to the starting XI in place of Ahmed Elmohamady and played the full 90 minutes of the clash at Villa Park. Tom Barkhuizen put the visitors ahead with an overhead kick on the cusp of half-time and January signing Lewis Grabban secured a point for Steve Bruce's side through a 66th minute penalty after replacing Robert Snodgrass at half-time. But Villa missed the chance to move up into second in the Championship and have taken just a point from their last two matches after a run of seven consecutive wins. Frustrated supporters took out much of their ire on Tottenham academy product Onomah, who has been a mainstay of the team this season. Here is a selection of their messages on Twitter:
