Aston Villa fans have slammed Josh Onomah for his performance in the 1-0 win against Leeds United at Villa Park on Friday night.

Onomah, 20, has dropped down Steve Bruce's pecking order in the last few months and made just his third Championship start of 2018 in the win over Leeds.

The attacking midfielder, who is currently on loan from Tottenham, has attracted criticism throughout most of the season which is perhaps why Bruce decided to drop him from his first-team plans since January.

And if the Villa supporters' reaction is anything to go by on Friday night, the Spurs youngster should be back on the bench for the next game against Ipswich next week after a poor performance over the Whites.

One angry Villain claimed that Onomah was "trash" against Paul Heckingbottom's side.

Here is a selection of their tweets:

Onomah is due to return to North London in a matter of weeks when Villa's season ends and there has so far been no indication that Bruce wants him back at Villa Park in the summer transfer window.

He has made 33 appearances in all competitions for the West Midlands club this season, scoring four goals and supplying one assist in the process.

Next up for Villa is a game against Ipswich and if results go their way this weekend, they could be back in the hunt for automatic promotion.
