Leeds manager Paul Heckingbottom has hinted that he will drop goalkeeper Felix Wiedwald for the Championship cash with Derby County on Wednesday night. In an interview with

he said that there was strong competition between Andy Lonergan and Wiedwald and that there would be no special treatment for either. Wiedwald came in for heavy criticism following the game against Bristol City which ended in a 2-2 draw, after making a blunder from a long throw that cost Leeds a goal.

In an interview with the BBC radio station, Heckingbottom dropped some strong hints that Wiedwald could be punished for his blunder, saying there was no special protection for goalkeepers. Asked about the situation between Wiedwald and number two Andy Lonergan, Heckingbottom said, "They've both been in and out, both had spells in the team and out the team. There's not been much between them and the competition is good. Asked whether it would be harsh to drop Wiedwald after one mistake, Heckingbottom sad, "Goalkeepers are different in that respect. "It's a specialised position and we've got two players fighting for that position and I would like to give goalkeepers an opportunity to impress. There's no special protection for goalkeepers in my mind so we'll play it by ear. Some Leeds fans were clamouring for the inclusion of youngster Bailey Peacock-Farrell but Heckingbottom seemed to squash that saying that he was currently behind Lonergan and Wiedwald.
