BBC Sportsound pundit Tam McManus has said that Joey Barton was a "disgrace" at Rangers and was "quickly found out".

McManus was responding to commentator Paul Mitchell who was commenting on barton's latest remarks about Scottish football being terrible.

McManus said that Barton has to be incendiary in order to get work, and that today's comments are him "talking shite to get a reaction".

Football Insider verdict:

Joey Barton is quickly turning into a rent-a-gob, which is fine – the game needs people that spark debate, right or wrong. His comments about Scottish football were always going to wind people up the wrong way but he's made the headlines again, and pundits like Tam McManus are as much to blame as anyone else. By turning a spotlight on Barton, McManus has ensured his Twitter followers are now aware of what he's said. Rangers fans are the ones that have the most to be angry about after Barton's turn in the Light Blue. Disgrace is a strong word but he wasn't very good – that much is for sure.
