Former West Ham defender Danny Gabbidon has claimed that Tottenham's Kieran Trippier is the best crosser of a ball in the entire Premier League.

Trippier, 27, was in fantastic form when Spurs beat Real Madrid 3-1 at Wembley on Wednesday night to book their spot in the final 16 of the competition in the New Year.

The England international was a constant menace to Real left-back Marcelo and supplied the assist to the opening goal when his low driven cross found Dele Alli in the six-yard box.

The ex-Burnley defender continued to trouble the Madrid back-line all game and BBC Sport pundit Gabbidon has made a huge claim about him after his performance.

"Tripper offside but he’s the best crosser of a ball in the Premier League," he said on his personal Twitter account on Wednesday night.

Trippier made his 12th appearance of the season in all competitions against Los Blancos and his cross for Alli was his seventh assist in those games.

The right-back is currently playing so well that he is keeping summer signing Serge Aurier on the bench such is his fine form.

Tottenham have two games to play in their group stage campaign but know that no matter what happens they will definitely finish in the top two after Borussia Dortmund and APOEL Nicosia drew with each other once again.
