Blackburn Rovers, Swansea City, and Watford are closely watching Chesterfield star James Berry, sources have told Football Insider.

The left-winger, 23, is the joint top scorer in League Two with four goals so far this season and his electric performances have alerted a host of clubs higher up the football pyramid.

Chesterfield are bracing themselves for interest in Berry in January as they are aware of scouts making regular trips to assess him.

Former Liverpool youngster Berry joined Chesterfield in the summer of 2023 and he is under contract until 2026.

It's been a mixed start to the season for Paul Cook's side, winning two, drawing three, and losing two in their opening seven league games.

Berry has had a starring role in each of Chesterfield's games this season, providing one assist alongside the four goals he's bagged.

Each of the Championship clubs monitoring Berry have had a positive start to the campaign, although Blackburn are currently the most impressive.

John Eustace, 44, is earning plaudits from fans and pundits alike, leading the former Premier League side to 12 points from their opening six league games.
