Sources: Bradford City open talks to sign Ipswich Town star Holy
Bradford City have opened talks to sign Ipswich Town goalkeeper Thomas Holy, Football Insider understands.
The Czech, 30, has slipped down the pecking order at Portman Road due to the arrival of Christian Walton from Brighton.
A recruitment source has told Football Insider that Bradford boss Derek Adams has lined up a loan deal for Holy that will run for the rest of the season.
Ipswich are happy to let him move on after signing Walton on a permanent basis from Brighton earlier this week, as first revealed by this site.
Holy joined Ipswich from Gillingham in the summer of 2019 and has made 65 appearances for the club.
Bradford currently have just two senior goalkeepers on the books in Richard O'Donnell and Sam Hornby.
Frist-choice O'Donnell, who is 33 and out of contract at the end of the season, has featured 22 times across all competitions for the Bantams this term.
Hornby, 26, meanwhile has deputised on seven occasions for Adams' side.
The West Yorkshire outfit are currently 11th in League Two and have conceded 29 goals in 24 matches.
Holy has featured just twice for Ipswich this term, and only two of those appearances have been in the league.
The 6 feet 7 inches stopper was the Tractor Boys' number one last season.
But fellow Czech Vaclav Hladky and new boy Walton have usurped him in 2021-22.
Bradford City have already made three loan signings this January in the form of wingers Jamie Walker and Dion Pereira, as well as midfielder Matty Daly.
