Scotland goalkeeper Craig Gordon was a real stand-out in their 0-0 UEFA Nations League draw with Portugal on Tuesday (October 15).

The 41-year-old pulled off a string of remarkable saves to deny Cristiano Ronaldo and his teammates what was expected to be an easy victory at Hampden Park.

Gordon got down low to save a close-range effort from Man United star Bruno Fernandes in the 86th minute to help secure Scotland's first UEFA Nations League point against the group leaders.

The game against Portugal marked Gordon's 71st cap for his country having made his international debut all the way back in 2003.

Craig Gordon is still the best 'keeper Scotland have

Gordon will now return to bottom-placed Hearts as they prepare for their next Scottish Premier League game against St Mirren on Saturday (October 19).

Scotland fans took to X, formally known as Twitter, to pay tribute to the legendary shot-stopper and believe he's still the best option they have between the sticks.
