Celtic fans have been left scratching their heads after Callum McGregor once again failed to make it into Gordon Strachan's Scotland squad for upcoming World Cup qualifiers against Slovakia and Slovenia.

McGregor, 24, has been in great form for the Hoops this season, scoring four goals and supplying three assists in 12 appearances across all competitions even though a good portion of his game time has come from the bench.

However although Brendan Rodgers was impressed enough to give the attacking midfielder a new contract recently, Strachan appears to not share that view with him omitted from a squad which contains six other Celtic players.

The Scottish FA announced the team on their official Twitter account on Monday morning.

Although there are plenty of Bhoys in the Tartan Army's squad ahead of some crucial fixtures, fans were left raging with Strachan on Twitter for his squad selection.

One supporter even claimed that the Scotland boss has "lost it".

Here is a selection of their tweets:

McGregor has made a lot of progress in recent seasons and whenever he takes to the pitch for Celtic, he rarely disappoints.

The Scottish attacker has never earned a senior international cap but was ever-present in the youth sides, making appearances at six different levels.
