Celtic player ratings v St. Johnstone: Midfielder has a shocker
By Matt Farr
Football Insider rates the Celtic players during their 5-2 victory over St. Johnstone in the Scottish Premiership on Sunday.
Craig Gordon 6 - Two lazy clearances had alarm bells ringing. Good save to deny Foster in first-half.
Kieran Tierney 6 - Likes to attack, but kept quiet on the left by Foster in the first-half. Broke the shackles in the second.
Mikael Lustig 6 - Slightly better defensively than he was on the ball. Squandered possession on more than one occasion, but didn't matter in the end.
Erik Sviatchenko 6 - Not challenged too much from open-play, but was kept busy nonetheless.
Dedryck Boyata 5 - Calamitous own goal. Perhaps not the best indication of his performance, but it wasn't perfect.
Scott Brown 6 - Top-class distribution. Strong and assertive. No-one wanted to go near him.
Nir Bitton 6 - Not as influential as his midfield partners, but played okay.
Liam Henderson 8 - Rare start for the 20-year-old midfielder. Smart finish, calm and composed. Always in the right areas.
Scott Sinclair 7- Blistering pace on the counter. Caused a number of problems. Excellent finish for fourth goal.
Gary Mackay-Steven 4 - The midfielder had a shocker. Several opportunities to score but didn't make his mark. A poor display.
Patrick Roberts 7 - Energetic. A stern test for opposition stopper Clark. A superb assist for Sinclair.
Subs:
Moussa Dembele 10 (for Mackay-Steven 59) - Had the desired impact. Came on with his side behind and netted a brilliant hat-trick
Callum McGregor 6 (for Henderson 72) - A decent impact off the bench.
Nadir Ciftci 6 (for Roberts 87) - Little time to influence the game, but nice to get a rare run-out.
