Chelsea are set to be deducted more than 10 points if they breach Profit and Sustainability Rules next season, sources have told Football Insider.

Speaking on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, senior correspondent Pete O’Rourke revealed that the Blues face a worse punishment than both Everton and Nottingham Forest.

The Londoners have recorded losses of £211.5million in the last two seasons and now must raise funds before June 30 to avoid a financial breach.

Financial regulations state that top-flight clubs are only allowed to lose a maximum of £105million over a rolling three-year period.

Chelsea could be stung by 10+ points deduction next season

Everton were given an initial 10-point deduction which was reduced to six after an appeal, while Forest were given a four-point deduction which has also been appealed.

Speaking on Football Insider's Inside Track podcast, O'Rourke said: "It keeps changing, but I think if the breaches are more serious than Everton’s then it’s going to be more than 10 points.

"I think that's pretty obvious and I think that'll be the case - but then we must see if Chelsea appeal."

Any breaches of financial rules would be charged and settled before the end of the 2024-25 season.
