Christopher Nkunku could push for a Chelsea exit next summer if he doesn't break into the first eleven, sources have told Football Insider.

The 26-year-old, speaking to Telefoot, was forced to rubbish speculation about a Paris Saint-Germain switch over the international break.

Nkunku has long-term admirers in the French capital, where he started his professional career before moving to Leipzig.

Enzo Maresca and club chiefs feel there will be plenty of opportunities for the forward to star in the coming months.

Nkunku 'unhappy' with game time and could push for shock Chelsea exit

Sources say Nkunku could take matters into his own hands next year as he is "unhappy" to play a backup role to the club's other forwards.

He is set to consider his future amid interest from top European clubs - with a potential exit set to come as a shock after his reported £52million arrival in 2023.

The forward had a huge injury layoff in the 2023-24 campaign but has returned seven Chelsea goals in 11 appearances so far in the new season, although only one of them has come in the Premier League.

However, he has started just one game in the Premier League - with Nicolas Jackson in form and preferred to the France international.

The likes of Joao Felix and Pedro Neto have been signed by Chelsea and are now competing with Nkunku for a first-team berth.
