Leeds have confirmed that Carlos Corberan has joined Thomas Christiansen's backroom staff as the new Under-23 coach.

The Whites announced on their official Twitter account and official website on Friday morning that the 34-year-old has been poached from top-flight Cypriot club Ermis, who finished ninth in the First Division last season.

He is the latest addition to Christiansen's new coaching set up at Elland Road after Paul Butler was announced as assistant head coach on Thursday.

Corberan's role in the Leeds backroom staff is no doubt key, as he will be taking charge of one of the most prestigious academy teams in the country that has recently seen Lewis Cook and Charlie Taylor emerge.

Like Christiansen, Corberan is moving to Yorkshire from Cyprus so it would be fair to assume that the Whites head coach has used his knowledge of the Mediterranean island's football to bolster his staff.

It's been an extremely busy summer for Leeds, who have had to make additions across all areas of the club.

Andrea Radrizzani took full control of United in May, but was met with a huge challenge just days later when Garry Monk left his role of manager.

Christiansen has since been named as his successor and has now added a staggering ten new players to his squad with the likes of Pontus Jansson, Mateusz Klich and Vurnon Anita all penning permanent deals with the club.
