Crysencio Summerville will leave Leeds United if they fail to achieve promotion this season, sources have told Football Insider

Speaking on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, senior correspondent Pete O’Rourke revealed it’s “inevitable” Summerville will move on this summer if Premier League football isn’t secured for next season.

The Dutchman has been in outstanding form for Leeds during this campaign after recently being named the Championship Player of the Year.

O’Rourke revealed several clubs showed an interest in signing the 22-year-old last summer and again in the January transfer window.

He added that the Whites will, however, be “well-positioned” to keep hold of the winger if they are promoted this season, allowing him to fulfil his desire to have another crack at the Premier League.

Leeds United could lose Crysencio Summerville

Leeds will be desperate to ensure Summerville and some of his fellow stars remain at Elland Road beyond this season.

The Dutchman has scored 20 goals and laid on 10 assists in 45 appearances after emerging as the Championship’s standout player.

Football Insider revealed on 3 May there won’t be a “massive” need for the club to sell some of their first-team players this summer as they are expected to move on a number of the players they loaned out last year.

But there is still likely to be interest in the likes of Summerville, Archie Gray and Willy Gnonto after the trio have caught the eye in the Whites' promotion bid this season.

That only raises the stakes further for Daniel Farke’s side, who currently find themselves in third-place behind Ipswich Town heading into the final round of fixtures.
