England fans were deeply impressed with midfielder Curtis Jones after his debut in their comfortable 3-0 win over Greece on Thursday (November 14).

Jones, 23, scored England's third goal with a cheeky backheel, catching the Greece defence off guard and securing all three points for the visitors.

While his goal will get all the headlines, his overall performance has earned him plaudits up and down the country ahead of Thomas Tuchel's imminent arrival as England manager.

The Liverpool midfielder ended the game with a pass completion rate of 96 per cent, made seven defensive recoveries, and won seven ground duels.

Considering he was one of five players drafted in as emergency cover following nine withdrawals by the likes of Phil Foden and Cole Palmer, Jones has given Tuchel a serious headache.

Jones is now only three goals shy of Foden's England tally, despite the Man City star having made 43 more appearances.

Curtis Jones living the dream after England debut

With central midfield being a problem position throughout England's Euro 2024 campaign, fans have taken to X, formally, known as Twitter, to suggest Jones might be the missing piece of the puzzle.
