Liverpool midfielder Curtis Jones has returned to full training ahead of the club's Premier League game against Nottingham Forest on Saturday.

Sources have told Football Insider that the 23-year-old has been given the all-clear by Liverpool's medical and fitness staff to make his playing return.

Jones missed Liverpool's last two Premier League games against Brentford and Man United with a muscle injury.

The central midfielder is yet to see any action under new manager Arne Slot but could now play a significant role for the club due to Harvey Elliott's injury.

Jones made a big impression for Liverpool last season but his career has been severely disrupted by injury and he has started just 84 of his 133 appearances across all competitions.

Last season was his most prolific since breaking into the first team back in 2018, scoring five goals and providing three assists in 36 games.

It's been a fantastic start to life at Anfield for Slot, winning all three of their opening Premier League games without conceding a goal.

The title contenders are set to play seven times in just under four weeks, notably having to travel to AC Milan for their first Champions League game of the season just three days after their match against Forest.
