Sources: Crystal Palace contact Burnley over Dyche compensation fee
Crystal Palace have contacted Burnley to enquire about the cost of Sean Dyche's compensation package, Football Insider understands.
The Londoners have made a move for the Clarets boss as they step up their manager search.
An industry source told Football Insider that Palace have approached Burnley to assess what it will take to lure Dyche down south in a clear indication he's a top target.
As revealed by this site, Dyche was first contacted by Palace in January about the possibility of succeeding Roy Hodgson.
The Palace board see Dyche, who has racked up almost a decade's service at Turf Moor, as a viable replacement.
That budget is far larger than the 49-year-old has ever had at Burnley, where he has constantly punched above his weight.
Palace are set for a summer of change with Gary Cahill, Mamadou Sakho, Patrick van Aanholt, Andros Townsend and Christian Benteke all out of contract at the end of June.
Hodgson's deal also runs out in a matter of weeks and the club announced earlier in May that the 73-year-old is set to step down as manager.
The Premier League's longest-serving manager, Dyche has overseen two automatic promotions and six seasons in the top-flight in East Lancashire.
Dyche's deal with the Clarets runs until the summer of 2022.
His Burnley side ended the season 17th in the final Premier League standings, down on a 10th-place finish the previous term.
Palace finished 14th, their seventh bottom-half finish in eight seasons since promotion in 2013.
That is a record ambitious chairman Steve Parish will hope Dyche can address should he take the reins this summer.
