'Danny Rohl's fate set to be sealed with crunch Sheffield Wednesday talks planned'
The future of Sheffield Wednesday manager Danny Rohl is set to be decided with crunch talks planned between him and owner Dejphon Chansiri.
Rohl joined Wednesday in October 2023 when the club was 10 points adrift of safety in the Championship.
The 36-year-old remarkably managed to keep Wednesday in the division that season, before a comfortable mid-table finish last campaign.
The German has been linked with plenty of managerial vacancies during his time at the club, with Middlesborough the latest to have expressed interest before they hired Rob Edwards.
Chansiri’s ownership though is running the club into the ground, with Rohl unable to currently sign any players for the next three transfer windows.
Rohl looks set to leave Hillsborough
Amid the uncertainty around the club’s future, Rohl looks set to leave the club this summer with The Star understanding negotiations are already underway to find a compromise that would end in his departure.
The Star reports Rohl will begin to take pre-season, but that the German will not manage another game for the club.
However, with first team coaches out of contract at the end of the month, and Rohl on the verge of leaving, the club’s academy coaches could have to step up to manage the first team.
Wednesday have come no closer this week to agreeing a takeover with interested parties with John Textor and Milan Mandaric both out of the running.

The now seemingly imminent departure of Rohl shouldn’t come as a shock to Wednesday supporters, but with Chansiri’s nightmare ownership continuing, it is the latest blow in a turbulent saga.
Rohl has impressed in his first ever managerial role, when the club were looking certain for an immediate return to League One when he arrived.

In staying up Wednesday managed to become just the third team ever to survive the drop having won three points or fewer from their opening 11 games.
Rohl did an equally good job last season, as he quietly steered the club into a safe mid-table position and even flirted with the possibility of a top six place for a spell.
The circumstances that surround the club right now though, means Wednesday already look destined to drop into League One at the end of the season.
A buyer is immediately required, but understandably Rohl doesn’t look to be waiting around to find out.
