Everton's contract talks with Dominic Calvert-Lewin have collapsed, sources have told Football Insider.

The 27-year-old striker has rejected multiple extension offers from the Merseyside club, with his current deal expiring in the summer of 2025.

Sources have told Football Insider that talks are now unlikely to restart until after the takeover situation has been resolved.

John Textor has entered a period of exclusivity to buy Farhad Moshiri’s stakes in Everton, but his ownership of Crystal Palace has impeded that process.

Calvert-Lewin’s contract situation has now opened the door for clubs to make cut-price offers during the upcoming January transfer window.

Newcastle are still tracking the England international after having a summer bid rejected by Everton.

Calvert-Lewin could leave Goodison Park on a free contract next summer if no deal is agreed between them before next summer.

The striker has already scored twice this season in his first five Premier League appearances, having provided one assist as well.
