Rangers fans have reacted to the bombshell dropped at the Aberdeen press conference, that the future of Derek McInnes will be resolved today.

Paul Sheerin, the Aberdeen Under-20s manager who was sitting in for McInnes said that McInnes' future would be decided 'sometime today'.

The news was announced on the Aberdeen official Twitter page on Thursday lunchtime.

The Scottish Sun reported earlier that McInnes' move is finally expected to be sorted today after weeks of rumours.

Aberdeen's Under-20s manager Paul Sheerin is stepping in for McInnes for training sessions and the Dundee game tomorrow night, with the current manager "Rangers-bound".

Rangers fans were delighted after the news was dropped in the press conference and are anticipating a happy Christmas with their new man in place.
